IMPORTANT PLEASE READ - New Trusted Certificate Deployment Required

Good Morning All,
As most of you are aware to provide the level of filtering required by schools we require a trusted certificate to be installed within your local networks. This allows us to intercept traffic to places such as Google and both filter/report on searches being made.
The certificate in place is due to expire on the 24th of May 2022 therefore we will need you to deploy a new certificate. The new certificate has a more secure key than the old one which will futureproof us for any changes made by large service providers such as Google to block smaller key sizes.
In summary, we will need schools to do the following BEFORE the 24th of May
· Deploy our new certificate https://hub.talk-straight.com/dl.php?type=d&id=135 via group policy or other means to any device where filtering is required
· DO NOT REPLACE THE CURRENT CERTIFICATE, DEPLOY THE NEW CERTIFICATE IN ADDITION TO THE OLD ONE
On the evening of 23rd May, we will switch the certificates on the Netsweeper platform, any customers that have not got the new certificate rolled out will see certificate errors when browsing HTTPS websites.

Schools that have been onboarded with Schools Broadband after the 4th of April will not need to take any action, both certificates will have been rolled out as part of our installation process.
