Identifying the equipment


  


Schools broadband use a variety of equipment, below is a brief description of some of these devices. 


Routers

 

RB2011(router board)

This type of router is used with all our connectivity types ADSL/FTTC, EoFTTC and Leased lines with a bandwidth up to 200 Mbps.

 

 

 

CCR (Cloud Core Router)

We use this type of router when the connection bandwidth is equivalent or exceeds 200 Mbps (leased lines only).

 

 

 

Draytek Routers

These routers are supplied to our ADSL/FTTC customers who have not purchased a security or filtering package, DIA (Direct Internet Access).

These routers can be either Wireless or Non-wireless devices, this will be determined during your provisioning 

 

 

 


Modems

 

Draytek Vigor 130

These are supplied to our ADSL/FTTC customers that are using an RB2011 for connectivity

 

 

 

Comtrend

These are provided by Talk Talk when an EoFTTC circuit has been provisioned, they are pre-configured with the appropriate settings for your circuit.

 

 

 


Cabling


Fiber Connection

We currently use LC/SMF has our current standard for Fibre connections

 

 

Copper Connector

We use the industry-standard Category 5e patch cables when supplying cables to our customers.

 

 

SFP Fibre module

These modules are provided along with the appropriate cables. Manufacture and type will vary as per provisioning requirements.
