Connecting up my Leased Line connection

The following diagram shows the ports used in a standard configuration.

Note: The supplier will terminate your NTE (Network Termination Equipment) using either copper or Fibre, this is pre-arranged with our provisioning team during the order process and appropriate cables and modules will have been sent out with the equipment.

RB2011 Option (copper shown)

Ether port 1 (LAN)

Your internal LAN (local area network) will be connected to the router via port 1, this port will be configured with your default gateways IP during installation.

Note: if you have more than one network or require additional connection options, this should be discussed with your installation engineer.

Ether port 5 (WAN)

This port will be used to connect you new leased line (WAN - Wide Area Network). this diagram shows the connection via a copper presentation and should be plugged into the equipment that has been installed during the suppliers provisioning appointments.

SFP Fibre termination option (alternative WAN Option)

Note: if the termination has been ordered for fibre, then you should have received a Fibre Transceiver and appropriate cable,

This module should be plugged into the RB2011 whilst powered down, this port is situated next to ether port 1 (LAN Connection), this is used as an alternative connection to ether port 5.

CCR Option

Ether port 1 (LAN)

Your internal LAN (local area network) will be connected to the router via port 1, this port will be configured with your default gateways IP, during installation.

Note: if you have more than one network or require additional connection options, this should be discussed with your installation engineer.

Combo Port (WAN)

CCRs have an interface called combo, this allows for a combined media option that can be configured internally as one interface,

Determined by the media type which was ordered for your installation, the appropriate equipment will have been supplied (Fibre or copper), this needs to be plugged into the relevant port.

Note: only one cable needs to be plugged in here.
