Setting up your DNS Forwarders

We recommend that you run an instance of the DNS resolution services on your internal domain, this article is to guide you through setting up the forwarders on your server/servers

If you are running two or more servers that are responsible for DNS resolution, then please ensure that replication is taking place or you will need to do this on all the servers

On Windows Server 2012 R2 this is found under the management Tools shown here

Note: For older operating systems please follow the guides for your specific version.

Once the DNS Manager has opened you need to right-click your Server and choose Properties

You now need the Forwarders tab

The DNS Forwarders will now be displayed, we need to change any that are present with School Broadband's server IPs

Choose Edit

The following buttons will become available when you highlight an existing entry

Please add our IPs in this order please:

85.92.188.226
85.92.168.104

Note: Our servers are not open recursors (i.e. If you are not on our network, they will not work).
